OUR PUBLICATION PRINCIPLES

What responsible information should do.

We prioritise useful explanations, a clear relationship to evidence and realistic treatment information—not sensational promises or fabricated rankings. These are the standards for new and substantially revised content; some earlier site pages are still being expanded.

01 / CLARITY

Answer the question

Explain the topic directly in plain language, separating general education from advice for an individual person.

02 / BALANCE

Explain risks and limits

Discuss potential benefits alongside uncertainty, contraindications, possible side effects, aftercare and alternatives.

03 / TRACEABILITY

Support claims with evidence

Use appropriate, checkable sources, and distinguish well-established evidence from preliminary findings or marketing statements.

SOURCING STANDARDS

Our hierarchy of sources

Different claims require different sources. Regulatory facts should be checked against current Singapore authorities; clinical claims need evidence appropriate to the question, with careful attention to study limitations, dates and relevance.

01 / LOCAL AUTHORITIES

Official Singapore guidance

For licensing, medical registration and health-product requirements, consult MOH, the Singapore Medical Council, HSA and other relevant authorities.

02 / CLINICAL EVIDENCE

Professional guidance and studies

Where appropriate, use credible clinical guidelines, systematic reviews and relevant peer-reviewed research. Describe the population, outcome and uncertainty when important.

03 / CONTEXT

Transparent educational examples

Explain how procedures work or why decisions vary; don't treat a clinic's promotional material as independent evidence of efficacy.

04 / INDEPENDENCE

Verify third-party claims

Check authorship, publication date, evidence and potential conflicts. User reviews or listicles alone do not establish clinical safety or superiority.

THE EDITORIAL WORKFLOW

From a reader question to a useful guide.

This is the standard we apply to new and substantially updated pages. It is not a claim that every existing page has already completed formal specialist medical review.

01

Define the reader's question

Choose a genuine question, one main search intent and an appropriate scope; avoid near-duplicate pages with little additional value.

02

Verify important statements

Check official requirements, evaluate clinical evidence and identify what is known, unknown or context-dependent.

03

Explain decisions honestly

Give the direct answer early, then discuss alternatives, practical considerations, risks and when professional advice is needed.

04

Revisit material changes

Correct verified factual errors and update important information when reliable evidence or relevant rules change.

TRANSPARENCY ABOUT EXPERTISE

Authorship and medical review

Publishing identity: Singapore Aesthetic. We have not publicly named an individual sitewide editor or medical reviewer. Reader-facing claims of individual professional review will only be appropriate when the identity, qualifications, review role and date can be substantiated.

AUTHORSHIP

Names, editorial roles and relevant qualifications should be published only when genuine and verified. A brand byline alone is not medical expertise.

MEDICAL REVIEW

Do not assume an article was clinically reviewed unless it names a qualified reviewer, relevant verified credentials and a review date.

EDITORIAL INTEGRITY

Medical claims and commercial independence

Medical claims

We avoid guaranteed-outcome language, unsupported superiority, blanket suitability and false certainty. Relevant risks, evidence gaps, recovery considerations and alternatives should be made visible.

This website cannot assess individual suitability or replace a registered medical professional.

Commercial relationships

If sponsored content, advertising, referral fees or affiliate relationships apply, they should be clearly disclosed. A paid mention must not be portrayed as an independent award, endorsement or objective ranking.

Mentioning a product, treatment or provider is not itself an endorsement.

UPDATES AND CORRECTIONS

When information needs to change

Health information and official guidance evolve. We distinguish editorial update dates from specialist review; a dated page is not automatically clinician-reviewed. No fixed review interval is promised unless it has actually been established.

01 / IDENTIFY

Recognise a possible error

Examples include outdated regulatory details, unsupported medical claims, misleading language or a broken citation.

02 / CHECK

Verify against reliable evidence

Compare the content with current primary sources, professional guidance or relevant studies, including important caveats.

03 / REVISE

Correct and document

Revise confirmed factual errors, update a substantive revision date and describe a material correction where appropriate.

CURRENT CONTACT LIMITATION

A dedicated, publicly verified corrections contact address has not yet been published. We will not describe an unverified or unmonitored inbox as a functioning correction channel. The official references below can help readers independently verify current regulatory and registration facts.

READER QUESTIONS

Questions about our editorial standards

Is every guide medically reviewed?

No sitewide medical-review claim is made. Individual review should be assumed only where a guide identifies an appropriately qualified, verifiable reviewer and the review date.

Who writes Singapore Aesthetic content?

Content is published under the Singapore Aesthetic identity. A named individual sitewide editor has not been disclosed; we do not invent an author or credential.

How often do you update a page?

When verified material issues, credible evidence or official guidance warrant an update. This page does not promise a universal review frequency.

Can I use this information instead of medical advice?

No. Guides provide general education and cannot replace an individual assessment by an appropriately qualified clinician.
